Terms of Service

Version 1.1 · Effective July 2026

These terms govern your use of engine99.club, Engine 99 accounts, booking enquiries, and participation in Engine 99 events. By creating an account, submitting a booking enquiry, joining an event queue, requesting a song, voting, signing up to sing, or attending an event inside the Engine 99 perimeter, you agree to these terms and any event-specific documents that apply.

Version 1.1 is operational product copy for launch readiness and is not attorney-reviewed. Counsel review is required before the first paid public event.

The service

Engine 99 is a bookable mobile sound stage with a crowd-controlled jukebox and karaoke experience. The web app lets guests search, request songs, vote on the queue, manage a personal library connection, and sign up to perform where those features are enabled. Hosts and operators may moderate or override the queue at their discretion.

Accounts

You are responsible for your account and must provide accurate information. We may suspend or restrict accounts that abuse the queue, harass other guests, impersonate others, submit unsafe content, attempt to disrupt an event, or violate these terms.

Some in-person participation features require a separately signed liability waiver and photo/video release. Account creation, remote browsing, and Spotify connection may remain available even when event participation is blocked pending those acknowledgments.

Bookings

Booking enquiries are requests, not confirmed reservations. A booking is confirmed only when we confirm it in writing after quoting. Payment, cancellation, weather, power, host-waiver, venue, insurance, and permitting requirements are set per booking in the written quote.

Music, licensing, and playback

Engine 99 guest features are request, discovery, library, queue, and participation tools. Do not rely on Engine 99 as a promise that any specific Spotify track, catalog item, or third-party service will be playable at an event. Operators control the playback system and may use approved operator playback sources, substitutions, or curated content.

For private bookings, host, venue, and event-organizer music licensing responsibilities will be handled in the written quote or booking terms. Engine 99 intends to maintain appropriate licensing posture for its own public operations, but public-performance licensing can depend on venue, host, event type, territory, and use case.

Content and conduct

  • Song requests, votes, karaoke sign-ups, and display names may be visible to other guests and on event screens.
  • Explicit content controls are set by the event host and operator.
  • Operators may remove requests, skip tracks, reorder the queue, block sign-ups, or remove guests for unsafe or abusive behavior.
  • You may not submit content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, invasive, or designed to disrupt an event.

Karaoke and performer content

If you sing, speak, dance, perform, or otherwise participate in karaoke or stage activity, you grant Engine 99 and the event host permission to display your performance live at the event and to capture, reproduce, edit, and use audio, photos, and video of that performance as described in the applicable Photo & Video Release. You are responsible for your conduct and for not intentionally infringing others' rights.

Third-party services

Engine 99 integrates with third-party services such as Clerk and Spotify. Your use of those services is also governed by their terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party service availability, catalog availability, authentication outages, or policy changes.

Liability, indemnification, and legal placeholders

Event attendance and in-person participation are subject to our liability waiver and, where applicable, photo/video release. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is" and our aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before a claim.

You agree to indemnify Engine 99 for claims arising from your misuse of the service, unsafe conduct, unlawful submissions, rights violations, or breach of these terms. Governing law, venue, and any additional indemnification language are reserved for counsel to finalize.

Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be posted here with a new version and effective date. Continued use after changes means acceptance. Separate versioned waiver, release, privacy, and terms records may require re-acceptance when they change.
